Online and Hybrid course review and approval

What is it?

SCC uses the Quality Matters rubric to help ensure students are engaging with high-quality online and hybrid courses through their continuous improvement model. The review process is a peer-review by online faculty with a minimum of two years of online teaching experience and QM peer reviewer certification. The peer reviews at SCC are internal peer reviews but follow the QM-subscriber process. This is a collegial and collaborative process for continual improvement of our online and hybrid offerings.

The SCC Online Practices and Procedures Handbook outlines the requirements and expectations for online and hybrid courses. The SCC Course Proposal form is required for any new online or hybrid course or course section (meaning personal version of a currently online course) being created.

The current list of SCC peer reviewers is:

  • Andrea Compton
  • Jerol Enoch
  • Nancy Graviett
  • Seema Haridas
  • Vicky Herbel
  • Deepika Jagmohan
  • Sylvia Malta
  • Beth Michael-Smith
  • Grace Moser
  • Corey Porter
  • Kate Sanker
  • Monica Swindle
  • Ranya Taquieddin
