Instructional Design

What is it?

The Online & E-Learning Department offers support and consultation for online and hybrid course planning and design. We also offer media services including video production for demonstrations and presentations that can be added to courses, whether online or F2F. The Director and Instructional Designers have a combined 50+ years of higher ed teaching experience, are all Quality Matters certified peer reviewers, and the Director is a Quality Matters certified master reviewer. All are experienced and up to date with best practices in online pedagogy and can help make that transition from F2F to online with course design and delivery.

Instructional designers can assist with planning and organizing a hybrid or online course, whether this is a new course or redesign, including creating template pages and design for homepage, content, assignments, discussions, and other course materials. They can assist in finding ways to add student engagement and interaction to a course and apply Universal Design for Learning principles and accessibility checks as well.
